When I Grow Up

Ask a child what they want to be.

Children across Maharashtra write down what they want to be when they grow up. People who already do that job answer them — with a video, or in writing, for everyone who shares that dream.

Add a child's dream Support a dream

01

A child writes

A few lines, or a page. In Marathi or English. Their teacher or parent sends it in — never the child.

02

We file it under a dream

Pilot, teacher, doctor, something else entirely. Read first, published second.

03

Someone who does that job answers

One answer reaches every child with that dream. Nobody is put in touch with a child directly.

What children want to be

Counting…

In their own words

Published exactly as written. No child is named.

How we look after children here

No child has an account and no child can sign in. We hold no child's name, age in years, class or contact — only the dream, the words, and an age group. A school is named only when it is large enough that naming it cannot identify a pupil; otherwise we show the district alone. Every essay is read by a person before it appears, and mentors answer a dream, never a child.
